Sign in to sync Microsoft Edge across devices

    When you sign in to sync with Microsoft Edge, you can easily browse the web from any device, keep your favorites organized, and always pick up right where you left off.

    Sign in to sync your account on your computer

    Setting up sync on your computer

    • In Microsoft Edge, choose your profile picture from the browser’s taskbar.

    • Choose the account you want to sign in with or click “Add new account” from the list of options.
    • If you see “Manage profile settings,” you are already signed in.

    Note: If you are on the Microsoft Edge settings page, choose Profiles > Sign in to sync data, select the account you want to sign in to, and click Continue.

    • To sync data, choose Sign in.

    When you sign in, Microsoft Edge syncs your favorites, passwords, history, extensions, settings, open tabs, autofill form entries (like your name, address, and phone number), payment information, and other data types across all the devices you use with this account.

    Note: Any tabs you have set aside will also be synced if you choose to sync your favorites.

    Switch accounts on your computer

    To switch to another account, click on your profile picture, then choose another profile or Add profile.

    Follow these steps to see or change the kind of data that is shared across your devices:

    • Click More options, Settings, Profiles, and Sync in Microsoft Edge.
    • You will see a list of the features and types of data that can be synchronized. To turn sync on or off for each feature, use the toggles on the right side of the screen.

    Note: Any tabs you have set aside will also be synced if you choose to sync your favorites.

    If you don’t want to sync data, you’ll need to sign out of Microsoft Edge. Here’s how:

    • Click on Settings and more. Settings  > Profiles >Sign out.

    If you want to get rid of all of your sync data before you sign out:

    • Go to Privacy, Search, and Services and click Clear browsing data.

    Caution: If you delete data while signing in and syncing, it will disappear from your devices.

    • Get the Microsoft Edge app for your iOS or Android device. 
    • We’ll send you a link to download the file if you enter your phone number.
    • Open Microsoft Edge, click on your picture, and then click on Accounts.
    • Sign in to sync, then choose your account.
    • To add a new account, click Add Account and then follow the on-screen instructions.

    When you sign in, Microsoft Edge syncs your favorites, passwords, history, open tabs, autofill form entries (like your name, address, and phone number), and other types of data across all the devices you use with this account.

    Note: Any tabs you have set aside will also be synced if you choose to sync your favorites.

    • Choose More options > Settings in the Microsoft Edge app, then choose your profile picture.
    • Select Sync from the list of Sync settings. 
    • You will see a list of the features and types of data that can synchronize.
    • Use the toggles on the right side of the screen to turn Sync on or off for each feature, then click Done.

    Note: Any tabs you have set aside will also sync if you choose to sync your favorites.

    If you don’t want to sync data, you’ll need to sign out of Microsoft Edge. Here’s how:

    • In the Microsoft Edge app, tap “More options” > “Settings,” then tap “Your profile,” “Sign out,” and “Turn off sync.”

    If you want to get rid of all of your sync data before you sign out:

    • Click on More choices >Setting > Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data.
